Functional Finance & Accounting Experience
Financial Reporting & General Accounting
- Hands-on and supervisory corporate controllership experience in $500M operation, including oversight and consolidation of 13 subsidiaries.
- Managed the full financial and accounting cycles for domestic and international divisions of entertainment, oil & gas and real estate development companies ensuring that information/data complied with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Directed monthly and year-end closing processes for a variety of companies, assuring the accuracy of data and integrity of reporting.

- Prepared quarterly financial results documentation and support for Business Division of large entertainment company that substantiated key Balance Sheet and Income Statement line items including roll-forward of cash, liabilities, detailed analysis of inventory (including impaired assets) gross margin and EBITDA.

Compiled support, in auditable form, for all footnote disclosures. Liaised with internal management, legal counsel and parent company to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance of SEC reporting.
- Team leader with 8 fiscal year audits within the entertainment industry including multiple accords requiring GAAP reporting methodology changes and preparation of support for audit review.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepared and presented the annual operating plan and monthly forecasts in accordance with Company objectives for a variety of companies including multinational entertainment, oil & gas and real-estate development companies. Reviewed results, analyzed and explained major variances and made recommendations for corrective actions, when appropriate.
- Converted and consolidated the monthly forecasts, annual budgets and long-range plans for various domestic and international entertainment entities (including consolidation of 13 international subsidiaries utilities IFRS). Reviewed budgets/forecasts, analyzed and explained major variances and submitted recommendations for corrective action, as required.
- Performed financial and business analyses, including, but not limited to, sales analysis, return on investment (ROI), recoupment analysis, film ultimates and product analysis, television green light process and profit participations.
- Developed, planned and oversaw $50m corporate budgets for major entertainment company; provided monthly and quarterly results as well as recommendations for improvements.
- Heavily involved in complex contract negotiations with Business Affairs on financial incentives and deal structuring for profit participants within a major entertainment studio.
Internal Controls & Process Engineering
- Completed SOX compliance process documentation for a large entertainment company division. Identified system and manual controls, opportunities for improvement and remediation solutions.
- Worked with internal audit to modify SOX questionnaires and policies to be used for Business Division of large multi-national entertainment company.
- Actively participated in and lead several business process improvement (BPI) projects for a large entertainment company, including revenue models, internal controls, ERP and sub-systems validity and efficiency, and departmental policies & procedures.
- Responsible for effectively developing, implementing, communicating and training on Financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance in accordance with Company objectives for a variety of companies.
- Developed month-end, quarter-end and year-end close checklists/procedures for various large entertainment entities with multi-national operations.
- Worked as team lead in transition from FAS 53 to SOP-002 and later worked with external auditors towards emerging clarifications and best practices which involved a change to the reporting methodologies used within various Business Divisions within each entertainment industry entity.

M&A Analysis and Post Acquisition Finance/Accounting Integration
- Responsible for the review of M&A activity, including comprehensive business analysis, due diligence procedures and preparation of post-acquisition financial statements.
- Key individual responsible for performing acquisition financial analysis for equity positions (whole or partial) within the television industry of large entertainment companies.
- Lead team member in transitioning accounting department from acquired subsidiary including chart of accounts mapping as well as staff integrations/reductions.
Financial Modeling
- Extensive experience building, improving and refining budget and forecast models for various types of businesses.
- Responsible for development and maintenance of multiple financial models including complex revenue models for major entertainment companies
- Created a profit participation model for a large entertainment company that analyzed data with multi-conditional outcomes and required a heavy dependence on extensive conditional and circular calculations.
- Developed a bottoms-up, 20-year cash flow model for creating the Business Valuation for potential sale of assets to third-party financiers.
- Developed and maintained the P&L model tracking titular performance of television series that served as the financial data feeding the ERP system for a major entertainment company.
- Trained various staff members on methodologies and best-use practices for development and maintenance of superior analytical models.

- Independently developed international sales data warehouse for large entertainment company whereby sales and other key drivers were tracked and evaluated. Provided real-time reports enabling Sales and Marketing teams to better function in the international marketplace. Solution was used as an interim data store until a custom system, using PowerBuilder, was developed years later.
